The Leopards gave everything they had, but left empty handed during Wednesday’s game at Spring Creek. The teams left the field with a final score of 7-4.
Lakewood head coach Jay Faircloth was disappointed with the loss, but said his team gave it all they had. The Leopards scored 3 of their 4 points in the first half, while the Gators scored all 7 of their goals in the second period.
“During the 1st half the score was 3-0, but we began to get tired. During the 2nd half we just started to give out, and Spring Creek came back with 7 goals on us. When you have games back to back like we did yesterday and today, you jut get tired. I’m not complaining though, we were able to get a goal in there so I’m very happy with our team. We made some adjustments and took the game to Spring Creek. It’s going to be very interesting when we play them again, and we’re not as tired. Overall, I’m really impressed with the boys. We didn’t do bad at all,” Faircloth asserted.
The stats for Lakewood showed Uoosman Zabala with 2 goals and 3 steals. His brother, Sadi Zabala found the back of the net on 2 goals, had 1 assist, and was credited with 5 steals, and 1.
The Leopards are now 2-1-1 overall, and 0-1 in the conference.
Lakewood well be at home next Wednesday against Rosewood.
