Union’s volleyball took out the Tigers, with both the Spartan JV and varsity winning.

Union’s Varsity team won 3 sets to 1.

The Spartans took the first 2 sets comfortably, lost the next, then went on to play very well in the 4th set to close out the visiting Tigers.

Union was able to play their entire bench in the win, and it was a team effort to get the win, according to their Head Coach Matthew Russell.

“We had a great practice Friday. After a sloppy week of play last week, the girls came to practice very focused. We did some running and conditioning, and the girls were just ready to play today. I’m very happy to see that,” he said.

There were no stats submitted, but all of the Spartans played key roles in the win. Lauren Preddy, Eva Long, Michala Robinson, and Carley Jones all stood out for their play against the Tigers with the effort they were putting forth.

Union plays Clinton Tuesday at home. The JV plays at 4:30, and Varsity is set to play about a half hour after the conclusion of the JV game.
