The West Bladen Knights traveled to Spartan territory Monday and were annihilated by an impressive performance from Union’s soccer team, 10-1.

Union scored 5 goals within the first ten minutes of the game. The first 3 came from Cesar Cardenas. Shortly after, Chayanne Lopez scored on a corner kick, followed by an Isaias Campos goal. Just ten minutes into the game, it was basically over.

Union would go on to allow 1 goal, and they would score 5 more. Arturo Herrera, Benjamin Serrano, Oscar Pacheco, Jeffery Romero, and Elias Gonzalez each would score goals in the game.

Head Coach David Ameen stated that he was pleased with the way his guys played. “Overall I thought we were pretty good. We did a good job moving the ball around, but I would still like for us to keep things to 2 or 3 touches and work on not carrying the ball so much. I’m happy overall though, everyone was able to play, and I’m glad our young guys stepped up for us.”

Union improves to 3-0-1 on the young season. They travel towards the coast to take on Trask on Wednesday at 6:00 p.m.
