The Lady Leopards varsity volleyball team put up a strong fight against Rosewood on Thursday, but their strength wasn’t enough to take the win. The first set Rosewood won with 27-25; 2nd set Lakewood won with 25-20; the 3rd set Rosewood returned with 25-16; and finally Rosewood left with a final score of 25-23.
“Coming in with all juniors and one senior, and then you play against a team with eight seniors is very difficult. For a young team like ours, it’s common for the way we played. We would play great for a few points, then look like an elementary team, a nod then we’d come back and look good again, then we’d fall back again for a few more points. We have to concentrate on getting more constant in what we do. These are JV to Varsity girls, and they are just not used to the speed and completion across the net,” Lakewood head coach Shelia Davidson explained.
Individual stats were not available.
Varsity record is 4-2 and they will travel to Princeton on Tuesday.
