Davidson Day tramples Harrells in varsity football

The Crusaders were unable to control Davidson Day on Friday night, allowing them to score 28 unanswered points in the second half. Harrells eventually lost 14-64.

HCA scored 6 points in the first quarter and 9 points in the second, but that was no match for DDA, which scored 14 points in the first quarter and 22 points in the second quarter.

Leading rushers for Harrells were Kelly Nelms, with 19 carries for 70 yards; Marcus Scarborough, 10 for 68; and Zach Carlton, 7 for 68; and Kelly Channing 7 for 14.

On defense, the Crusaders had a total of 40 team tackles, with Zach Batts leading the way with 7 tackles. Channing Kelly was right behind him with 6 tackles; Zach Carlton with 5 tackles, and Justin Smith with 4 tackles.

Zach Carlton and Kelly Nelms both scored for the Crusaders.

Harrells will host South Robeson High School this Friday night.
