Lady Leopards win big over S.C. Gators

The Lady Leopards volleyball team brought home the win against Spring Creek on Thursdays, taking 3 of 4 sets; 25-18; 23-25; 25-17; 25-21.

The team presented an even offensive front, with Anna Heinz scoring 2 aces, 8 digs, and 3 assists; Alana Jackson, 2 aces and 3 digs; and Emily Lewis with an astounding 25 assists, 4 digs, 3 aces and 1 kill shot; Bianca Boone with 5 digs and 1 assists; Deja King, 1 assists and 5 digs; and Alyssa Horne, with 3 assists, 5 digs, and 3 kills.

On defense, Rashyda Parker was credited with 21 kills, 3 digs, and 1 assists and teammate Kiara Parker had 15 kill shots, 3 aces and 5 blocks.

The Leopard varsity fell to Princeton last week in 3 sets which leaves the Bulldogs at No.1 in the Carolina Conference with no conference losses. Lakewood is No. 3 with a 6-3 conference record.

Lakewood will travel to North Duplin on Tuesday and host Neuse Charter on Thursday.
