Horses struggle in volleyball action

The Lady Dark Horses are working hard to improve their season and the junior varsity took down the Patriots in 2 of 3 games this past week.


The scores in the JV games were 25-23; 23-25; and 27-25.


The varsity lost in 4: 16-25, 18-25, 25-17, 10-25


Leading the stats for Clinton varsity were Caitlyn Perry with 2 Digs, 2 Blocks, 2 Kills, 1 Ace; and Elizabeth Tsao, 3 digs and 5 kills. Teammates that added to the cause were Maria Thornton with 1 block and 3 kills; Jessica Bell, 2 digs; Katelyn O’Neal, 1 dig and 1 ace; Skyler Ray, 3 digs, 1 ace; Dayna DeMaddis, 1 ace; and Peyton Mitchell, 1 ace.


On Monday, the Lady Horses hosted 3A Cape Fear. JV fell in two sets, 18-25 and 19-25.


The varsity played tough, but lost in 4: 18-25, 25-21, 19-25, 21-25.


Leading the scoring for Clinton was Elizabeth Tsao with 1 dig, 6 kills, 2 tips, 5 aces, and 11 points. Other Dark Horses who added to the cause were Jessica Bell 1 Dig, 5 Kills, 1 Tip, 2 Aces, 7 Points; Kristen Glasper 2 Digs, 1 Ace, 8 Points; Katelyn O’Neal 1 Kill, 2 Aces, 2 Points; Skyler Ray 1 Dig, 1 Kill, 5 Points; Jackie Parker 1 Kill; Caitlyn Perry 3 Kills, 1 Ace, 1 Point; Taylor Southerland 1 Dig; Dayna DeMaddis 1 Point; Maggie Wells 1 Tip, 1 Ace, 4 Point.


Clinton will host Midway on Tuesday and travel to East Bladen on Thursday.
