The Dark Horses squeaked by a tough and ready Eagles team with about 3 minutes left in the second 10 minute overtime, winning 2-3 at East Bladen.

The Eagles came out fast and furious, scoring about 1 minute into the game.

It took about 20 minutes before Dark Horse Jose Aguilar found the back of the net to tie the score at 1-1.

With a just a few minutes left in the game, Connor Bass hit the shot that tied the game 2-2.

Good defense kept the ball away from the net in the first OT period, but with 3 minutes left in the second overtime Spell Carr hit the winning shot for the Horses to take the 2-3 victory.

“East Bladen came out pumped up. In the first minute of the game, they scored a goal on us. They really did a good job with trapping us off-sides, too. We got caught 14 times,” Coach Spell explained.

This brings Clinton’s overall record to 13-2-2. They are still undefeated in the conference at 9-0.

Dark Horse head coach Brad Spell was proud that his team never gave up, but said they weren’t focused as a team, which gave the Eagles an edge and an almost-win.

“I was disappointed in our focus. We didn’t play as a team, but I was proud of them for not quitting. We were down twice, but came back to win it,” he explained.

The Dark Horses will host Midway on Wednesday.
