The varsity Dark Horses whipped up on the Wolfpack, winning 10-1 on the soccer field Thursday evening.
Clinton’s junior varsity won their final game, 2-1, against the Whiteville Wolfpack also. The JV ended their season at 4-4-5.
In varsity action, head coach Brad Spell said the Dark Horses seemed to have a really good time on the field.
“I thought everyone played really well. They were patient on offense and seemed to enjoy playing together. Everyone got to play,” noted Coach Spell.
Clinton’s conference record remains at 10-0, but the team’s overall record moves to 15-2-2.
Almost everyone on the team found the net or either assisted in getting a goal. Luis Aguilar and Eric Bradshaw each scored 2 goals; Connor Bass, Trevor Brewington, Spell Carr, Edwin Acosta, Lyman Faison, and Ivan Palencia all scored 1 goal.
Aguilar and Carr, each had 2 assists; Will Reagan, Edwin Acosta, Adriel Coello, and Kelby Moore, were all credited with 1 assist each.
The Dark Horses, who are No. 1 in their conference, will host the No. 4 Spartans on Monday at 6 p.m.
