Several local teams have made it into the state football playoff tournament this year. Fans who plan to attend the games should be aware that the admission price to all post-season games goes up from $6 to $7 per person.

Midway, which moved up to the 2A bracket this year, is ranked 12th in the east region bracket and they will travel to No. 5 Holmes High School in Edenton on Friday night for their first playoff match up.

No. 3 Clinton, also in the 2A bracket, will host No. 14 East Bladen on Friday. They have already faced the Eagles once this season and sneaked by them with a score of 21-20.

In the 1A bracket, No. 8 Union will face the powerhouse James Kenan Tigers, who are No. 1 in the east region with perfect record. The Tigers will host the Spartans.

The 1A No. 6 Lakewood Leopards will travel to Franklin County to face No. 3 Louisburg High School. The Leopards ended the season 7-4 and Louisburg has a record of 8-3.

The Harrells Crusaders are one step ahead of the county schools. The NCIHSAA started their tournament this past Friday. HCA is ranked No. 2 in the 2A bracket, and won the first round against Wake Christian Academy. This Friday, they will go up against No. 3 ranked Christ School.
