The Lady Dark Horse junior varsity team fell to Richlands, 46-41, in a close game on Friday. They did not play at Lakewood because the Leopards don’t have a girls JV team this year.

Clinton got off to a good start and was leading by the end of the first quarter, 11-14, but fell behind by 3 at intermission, 24-21. The Lady Horses just couldn’t get the shots to fall to move them ahead, with third quarter score 32-29; and final 46-41.

Clinton head coach Regina Parker stated, “The girls played great, but our shots just weren’t falling. I’m proud of their hustle and heart from start to finish.”

Leading scorer for the Horses was Kiera Mabry with 17 points. She was followed close behind by Chelsea Underwood, with 15 points; Charica Joyner, 4; Johnesa Shipp, 2; Amiyah Best, 2; and Toni Whitted, 1 point.

The girls junior varsity will host the Cape Fear Colts today (Tuesday).
