Merry Christmas from the Sampson Community Theatre!
This past weekend was a wonderful time in downtown Clinton as the large cast of “It’s A Wonderful Life” gave the audiences outstanding performances that resulted in them leaving the Sampson Community Theatre with a smile on their faces and the spirit of Christmas in their hearts.
The toughest role in this play was that of George Bailey, who had the most lines to memorize. It was played flawlessly by Nathan Carter who has given his all in every show he has appeared in on the big stage and he has received joyful applause for his part in this one.
Another fine performance was given by Guy and Teresa Padgett in their song and dance segment as Mr. an Mrs. Martini while G. Wayne Melvin earned all the boos and hisses as he portrayed the villain of the show, Mr Potter. Gary Wilson made a superb “Angel, Second Class” and was the happiest fellow on stage when he got his wings.
We were fortunate to have Jordan Shopping Plaza and Matthews Drugs & Gifts as the shows sponsor. Many thanks to Angela Martin for her exceptional directing of this complicated musical and who suffered through many rehearsals with cast members missing.
Kathy Day will be directing our next show, “The Dixie Swim Club,” and she will be holding auditions at 10 a.m. Saturday Jan. 4, 2014. She needs five females for this show who age 35 years over the course of the production.
The Sampson Community Theatre and Kaitlyn Royal wish to thank everyone who contributed to the Food Bank during the past two weekends. Kaitlyn will be delivering two large boxes of canned goods to the Food Bank this week thanks to your kindness and generosity.

Thoughts Until Next Week
• Some businessmen are saying this could be the greatest Christmas ever. I always thought the first one was.
• How many observe Christ’s birthday? How few his precepts? O! ‘tis easier to keep holidays than commandments.
• Nothing is as mean as giving a little child something useful for Christmas.
