The Dark Horses are starting the season off right with a big win at East Bladen to put them up 2-0 in the conference and 7-0 overall. They shot down the Eagles 53-38.

“Our defensive effort was excellent. We did a great job of taking away what they wanted to do and forced them into sets that they do not normally run. We also did a really good job rebounding as we out rebounded them 39-17,” Clinton head coach Randy Jordan explained.

He added that the Horses offensive effort wasn’t quite as good as their defensive play.

“We struggled offensively and could not really get going in our transition game, but part of that was due to how physical the game was. It is great to be 2 - 0 in conference but we realize their is a long way to go. We need to get better every day,” Coach Jordan added.

Scoring was fairly even throughout the team, with J.C. Evans, Michael Boykin, and Jerimiah Pope all scoring 10 points each. Jalen Banks added 8 points.

Rebounding stats showed O.J. Jones with 9 and Boykin with 8 rebounds.

The varsity boys will play on Friday as Clinton hosts a holiday tournament on the Friday and Saturday after Christmas.
