Midway’s JV squad defeated Clinton 77-72 Friday afternoon in a high scoring affair. Shyheim Small, Paris Smith, and Jackson Carr led Midway in scoring with 21, 19, and 12 points respectively. We were unable to get Clinton’s stats.

Midway led 16-8 after the opening quarter, then built a 38-26 lead to take into the halftime locker-room. Clinton used a big run in the third quarter to cut the lead to 51-49. Midway was able to knock down their free throws in the final period to prevent the Dark Horse comeback, as they held on to win by 5.

Matthew Creech of Midway was very pleased with his team’s play, stating that he felt like his team was aggressive and made good decisions all night.

Clinton showed great effort in the second half as they made the game a lot closer than any Raider fan wanted. This game set the stage for a great night of basketball all the way around in Spivey’s Corner.
