This icicle measured 33 inches long and was hanging from a residence off Rowan Road Wednesday afternoon. First snow, then freezing rain blanketed Sampson Wednesday night, the second round of winter weather in a 48-hour period that left as much as 7 1/2 inches of snow and about a tenth inch of ice.
