Black History programs planned for area churches

Prayer service is held every Thursday night from 6 p.m. til 7 p.m. at the House of Prayer in Faison.


Littlefield Missionary Baptist Church in Newton Grove will travel to the General State Usher Convention in Charlotte on Saturday Feb. 22 at 5 a.m.. Anyone interested in attending call Deacon Larry Crumpler at 910-379-5753.


On Saturday, Feb. 22 from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Dr. Jawanza Kunjufu, a nationally recognized speaker and author on topics advancing black boys and men, will be the featured presenter for the first Trayvon Martin Black Male Conference at First Baptist Church, Moore Street, Fayetteville. The conference will feature two workshops each for male African-American youth and for men at 9:30 a.m. and 10:45 a.m.. Dr. Kunjufu, author of 38 books, has been featured on the Oprah TV show and in Ebony and Essence Magazines. He will focus on how to raise successful black boys and how to strengthen men’s ministries in the church. Dr. Kunjufu will also deliver the “Black History Month message at the 11 a.m. worship service at First Baptist Church Fayetteville on Sunday Feb. 23.


On Sunday, Feb. 23 at 7:30 p.m. the House of Prayer in Faison will have regular service. There will be a guest speaker for the evening.


On Sunday, Feb. 23 at 4 p.m. Brown’s Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Clinton will be celebrating their Black History program. On the program there will be a fashion show, a skit, singing, and African attire both old and new. The host pastor is the Rev. Jeffery White.


On Sunday, Feb. 23 at 3 p.m. Bearskin Missionary Baptist Church in Clinton will be celebrating their Black History program. The celebration will reflect highlights of the Civil Rights in America through songs, praise, dancing, poems, skits and reflections. The host pastor is the Rev. Mark D. Powell.


On Sunday, Feb. 23 at 11 a.m. regular morning worship service will be held at Snowhill Missionary Baptist Church in Roseboro. The pastor, Dr. S.E. Bryant, will bring forth the message and the youth choir will render the music. After morning service dinner will be served. At 3 p.m. they will celebrate their Black History Program. The Rev. Kelvin Allen from Betholite Missionary Baptist Church is the guest speaker for the evening. There will be other activities on the program. The host pastor is Dr. S.E. Bryant.


On Sunday, Feb. 23 at 6 p.m. Clinton Chapel A.M.Z. Church will have a program called “Out of the Box Experience.” The guest speaker is Elder Patrick Stewart. The host pastor is the Rev. Linda Mozee.


On Sunday, Feb. 23 at 11 a.m. regular morning worship service will be held at Brown’s Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Clinton. The pastor the Rev. Jeffery White will bring forth the message and the adult choir will render the music.


On Sunday, Feb. 23 at 11:30 a.m. regular morning worship service will be held at Greater Mt. Calvary Holiness Church in Clinton. The guest speaker, the Minister Lucille Lewis, will bring forth the message and the Faison family will render the music.


On Sunday, Feb. 23 at 11 a.m. regular morning worship service will be held at First Missionary Baptist Church in Bowden. The pastor, the Rev. Harold Jr. Boykin, will bring forth the message and the combine choir will render the music.


On Sunday, Feb. 23 at 8:45 a.m. and 10 a.m. regular morning worship services will be held at First Missionary Baptist Church in Roseboro. The pastor, the Rev. John T. Oliver, will bring forth the message and the senior choir will render the music.


On Sunday, Feb. 23 at 11 a.m. regular morning worship service will be held at Littlefield Missionary Baptist Church in Newton Grove. The pastor, Dr. Claudie Morrisey, will bring forth the message and the youth choir will render the music.


On Sunday, Feb. 23 at 11 a.m. regular morning worship service will be held at Running Branch Disciples of Christ Church in Clinton. The pastor, Elder Calvin Deans, will bring forth the message and the disciples of sounds will render the music.


On Sunday, Feb. 23 at 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. regular morning worship services will be held at New Life Outreach Ministries in Clinton. The pastor, Minister Regina Lucious, will bring forth the message and the adult choir will render the music.


On Sunday, Feb. 23 at 11 a.m. regular morning worship service will be held at Holly Grove Church of Christ in Clinton. The pastor, Elder Terrell Powell, will bring forth the message and the male chorus will render the music.


On Sunday, Feb. 23 at 10 a.m. regular morning worship service will be held at Christ Missionary Baptist Church in Clinton. The pastor, the Rev. Marvin T. Clowney, will bring forth the message and the youth choir will render the music.


On Sunday, Feb. 23 at 11 a.m. regular morning worship service will be held at Bearskin Missionary Baptist Church in Clinton. The pastor, the Rev. Mark D. Powell, will bring forth the message and the adult choir will render the music.


On Sunday, Feb. 23 at 11 a.m. regular morning worship service will be held at St. Jude United Holy Church in Clinton. The pastor, Elder Willie H. Bryant, will bring forth the message and the adult choir will render the music.


On Sunday, Feb. 23 at 11 a.m. regular morning worship service will be held at Lisbon Street Missionary Baptist Church in Clinton. The pastor, the Rev. Victor L. Wilson, will bring forth the message and the male chorus will render the music.


Red Hill Missionary Baptist Church will host a “It Takes Two in Marriage” program Sunday, Feb. 23 at 3 p.m. The host church pastor is the Rev. Ray Bolton. You don’t want to miss the awesome event. Special recognitions will be presented.


Red Hill Missionary Baptist Church will host a “Seven Up” program Sunday, March 2, 2014 at 3 p.m. Come out and see “What’s Up!” This is an event you will not forget.
