Midway FFA members take part in state leadership conference

GREENSBORO — Members of the Midway High School FFA participated in the 2014 MEGA conference conducted by the NC FFA Association March 23-24.


“MEGA Conference provides students with an opportunity to explore the FFA and learn ways to impact their chapters after returning home,” said Gerald Barlowe, state FFA ad visor. “Students that participate in this conference are the future leaders of our organization.”


By focusing on the importance of teamwork, communication skills, goal setting, FFA history, opportunities and risk taking, students are able to explore many facets of their leadership potential. A staff composed of the current state FFA officer, past state FFA officers and collegiate FFA members created a high quality, fast-paced, enthusiastic conference.


“MEGA Conference is a great opportunity for FFA members to develop their potential as leaders for the furute of agriculture,” Barlowe attested. “This year’s conference has been designed to elevate the level of personal growth for our members while providing an environment where students can learn, lead and succeed.”


The North Carolina FFA is a youth organization of 20,015 student members preparing for leadership and careers in the science, business and technology of agriculture with 259 local chapters across the state. FFA makes a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.
