The Lady Leopards soccer team fell short to Spring Creek on Thursday night in Leopard territory, ending the game with a final score of 3-1.
The Leopards truly put up a fight throughout the entire game as it was a battle for a goal to make by either side until the Gators gained a point at the end of the 1st half. At the start of the 2nd half Spring Creek had slid as the Leopards again with gaining another goal. Soon after Lakewood managed to return a goal. Spring Creek came up again at the end of 2nd half with a goal, leaving Lakewood no room to catch up for the win.
Lakewood’s head coach, Jay Faircloth, said, “I think the girls played good tonight. Juts like a lot of other games we played we beat ourselves with mental mistakes. We played a lot harder as well. The girls played good the 1st half, but the 2nd half we played a lot harder. I’m proud of the girls, they fought hard all the way to the end. I’m not going to say I’m no disappointed, because I am. We should have won this game tonight, but, you know, it is what it is.”
Gloria Santana made the goal for the Leopards.
Lakewood will be traveling to Rosewood on Tuesday, and their conference record is now 2-5.
