The Sampson Arts Council Celebrity Golf Tournament is set to take place at Coharie Country Club once again this year. The tournament will be played June 13th, and will be a four-man superball format. The tournament is pre-flighted by handicap, and there will be three flights.
Some of the notable celebrities participating in the tournament include former NFL quarterback, Roman Gabriel, ESPN’s Bucky Waters, and former LA Dodger’s pitcher and Clinton coach, Jimmy Raynor.
Registration can be done by contacting the Sampson Arts Council at 910-596-2533. The cost to participate in the tournament is $125. This include the round of golf, breakfast, lunch, and a large reception at the Victor R. Small House in Clinton on June 12th.
All of the proceeds from the tournament will be used to send unprivileged children to art camp over the summer. Last year, enough money was raised to send 30 children to art camp. If one child is selected to go to art camp, all of the other children in the household that want to go are permitted to go as well.
There are many ways so sponsor the tournament as well. Sponsorship prices range from $50 to $3,500. For more information, contact the Sampson Arts Council.
Member of the council, Helen Kearns is looking forward to what she hopes will be another successful event. “I really hope we continue to have success and I am looking forward to the tournament and events again this year,” said Kearns.
