Midway’s softball team beat Union in both games of their double header in Spivey’s Corner on Friday evening to end the regular season. Midway won the first game 9-3, and the second 10-0.

Brittany Watson was the pitcher in both games for Midway. She allowed just 4 combined hits over 8 innings of work, and allowed just 3 total runs, none of which were earned.

Hope Cottle pitched the games for Union. No other Union stats were available.

Amber Poole had four hits over the two games, while Emily Hairr also had 4 hits and a total of 3 RBIs and 3 runs scored. Kelsey Pondo had a total of 4 RBIs and 3 runs scored in the two games.

Union struggled getting hits off of Midway’s Watson. All three runs scored in the first game by Union were off of Midway errors.

It is likely the end of the season for both of these teams, but both coaches are proud of the effort put forth by each of their players this season, and would like to thank everyone associated with their teams for their support.
