In response to your May 1, 2014 article, Royal Acres owner pleads “No Contest” implies this case is just about the well-being of dogs; not so. NC animal farmers and ranchers should not be so mislead and fooled. The Humane Society of the U.S (HSUS) is a rich, radical, vegan / Animal Rights (ARs) organization out of Washington, DC. HSUS is in NC on a deceptive, vigilante rampage—raiding animal breeding operations they call puppy mills, 19 so far. Several thousand animals have been taken—including dogs, cats, horses. cows, goats, turkeys, chickens, exotic birds and the list goes on.
Digging deeper will reveal that the Fayobserver reports that the Sampson County Commission, 1-14-13, accepted $16.000 in grants on behalf of the SC Animal Control. HSUS’s Kim Albourn specified $7,000 was to be used to remove the gas chamber, within 90 days, and the rest could be used as needed. This money trail is strong implication that there was a cozy, backroom, sweetheart relationship in progress to get SC Animal control “badges” to advance HSUS’s dirty work—a hidden NC’s ARs political agenda—AT THE EXPENSE OF THE HALLS. Between the 1-14-13 SC Commissioners’ meeting and 2-26/27-13 (43 days)—SC AC was on the Halls’ property 3 times—twice armed with search and seizure warrants with HSUS’s Kim Albourn at the helm. (When you find the money—you find the “rest of the story”.
HSUS and SC animal control claim they were responding to a citizen’s complaint. Let’s take a look at the “citizen’s complaint” that abuse was taking place at the address. Implications are that the citizen was from across the street or down the road from the address. I doubt it. HSUS has posted a $5.000 reward for folks to help them find these so-called puppy mills. Indications are that these so-called citizens are out-of-state “pigeons” that may be as far away as DC or NY that are sympathetic with the ARs movement. Also. they may be “bounty hunters” chasing HSUS’s $5,000 reward money. (The Halls have a constitutional right to know their accusers are.) I strongly suspect that 99.9999% of these citizen’s complaints are fictitious—designed to get the ball rolling. Prove me wrong; make them tell them tell thr Halls who their citizen complainant was.
I’m deeply concerned that this HSUS vigilante rampage of raiding commercial breeding operations—to advance their political ARs agenda—is a dangerous abuse of our NC “Rule of Law”—which the SC Sheriff’s Department was a part —and should be stopped.
Last word. This is the same HSUS that recently posted the “sow pictures” on the sides of Raleigh buses. Sheriff Thornton, please remember to tell the Halls how it feels when HSUS comes knocking at your hog house doors. (HSUS is not only after our puppies — they are after our pork chops, bacon and sausage as well.)
