I hope each of you have a safe and fun holiday this 4th of July! I encourage you to join in on the festivities within your community this weekend as we celebrate.
This week the Chamber office has been preparing for “Chamber 101”which is taking place the beginning of August. Offering two opportunities to our members, I encourage you to join us on either Tuesday, Aug. 5 at 10 a.m. or Wednesday, Aug. 6 at 3 p.m. as we review the many opportunities included in your Chamber membership. Our goal is to educate our members on how to utilize the Chamber’s advertising opportunities, add hot deals and events to the Chamber website, discuss networking opportunities, the variety of programs, committees, and much more. If you are interested in attending Chamber 101 on either date, please call the Chamber office at 910-592-6177 to register.
Also this week, our office has been in contact with Washington D.C. as we are planning for the 2nd Sampson Perspective right here in Clinton. The Sampson Perspective will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 3 at Sampson Community College. A panel of leaders will be asked a series of questions by the moderator. These questions will be submitted by Chamber members prior to the event. The audience will also have time to ask questions to the panel at the end of the event. Our office has also been getting ready for our trip to the Washington D.C. for the Washington Perspective. Each year a group of Chamber members pay their own way to travel to the nation’s capitol to meet with elected officials. The Chamber strives to serve as a voice to our members and the community; therefore we hold the Sampson Perspective locally and also take our concerns, challenges, and needs to Washington D.C. each September.
Applications are already coming in for the 2014 Business Showcase also taking place in September. I encourage you to consider taking part in the Business Showcase on Thursday, Sept. 11. From 5 until 7 p.m., members are invited to set up a booth-style exhibit to showcase your business to the community and other business partners at the CenturyLink Building in downtown Clinton. Hosted by CenturyLink, enjoy live music, door prizes, delicious hors d’oeuvres and more. Booth space is limited. For more information and to apply for a booth space, please visit the website, www.clintonsampsonchamber.org.
Again, I hope each of you have a safe and fun 4th of July with family and friends! As always, I encourage you to shop local and get involved within the Chamber and community. For more information about the many fall events, visit our website at www.clintonsampsonchaber.org or call 910-592-6177 and let the Chamber work for you!
