The newly formed La Leche League of Sampson County will hold its inaugural meeting on Thursday, Jan. 4 at 10 a.m. at Graves Memorial Presbyterian Church, 201 Fayetteville St. in Clinton. The new chapter of this 60-year international non-profit organization seeks to provide the women of Sampson County breastfeeding support through mother-to-mother support, encouragement, information, and education, and to promote a better understanding of breastfeeding as an important element in the healthy development of the baby and mother.
Volunteer Leader Lucy Lockamy, trained and accredited by La Leche League International, will head up the free monthly meetings, which occur on the first Thursday of every month. We offer practical information and support to nursing mothers through telephone help, monthly meetings, and lending libraries of books on childbirth, breastfeeding, and related parenting topics.
All breastfeeding mothers and pregnant women interested in breastfeeding are welcome to attend our meetings (along with their babies) or call our Leaders for breastfeeding help. Your local La Leche League Leader can be reached by email at firstname.lastname@example.org, calling or texting 910-216- or find La Leche League on Facebook.
