Members of the Just-A-Mere Garden Club planted English bulb gardens when they went to Bell’s Garden Center in Fayetteville. This was done under the direction of Jeff Thompson and Angela Smith of Bell’s, who gave instructions and assistance in planting the tulip bulbs and pansies in terra cotta pots. A time of shopping followed.

The club ladies then went to the new home of Sybil West for the October meeting and dinner. Marie Warren presided at the brief meeting followed by a devotion and blessing by Elsie Jackson.

The hostess served a dinner of chicken spectacular, marinated vegetables, sesame seed salad, celery stuffed with pimento cheese, orange congealed salad, croissants, apple crisp, iced tea and coffee.

There were 12 members who enjoyed the fellowship and delicious dinner at the former member’s home.

The hostess gift was won by Dixie Honeycutt who received an illuminated address plaque.
