MOUNT OLIVE — The University of Mount Olive will hold a concert featuring the US Army Field Band and Soldiers’ Chorus. The event will be held on Thursday, Oct. 15, at 7:30 p.m. in the George and Annie Dail Kornegay Arena.
The 65-member concert band and the 29-member Soldiers’ Chorus is the oldest and largest of the U.S. army field bands. The joining of these two ensembles allows them to offer unparalleled versatility of programming. The chorus has performed in all fifty states, Canada, Mexico, India, the Far East, and throughout Europe, entertaining audiences of all ages.
The musical backgrounds of Soldiers’ Chorus personnel range from opera and musical theatre to music education and vocal coaching; this diversity provides unique programming flexibility. In addition to presenting selections from the vast choral repertoire, Soldiers’ Chorus performances often include the music of Broadway, opera, barbershop quartet, and Americana.
Admission to the concert is free, but tickets are required. To obtain your tickets, contact Cynthia Wellinger at email@example.com or call 919-635-2787. For more information about the event, please contact Bill Ford at firstname.lastname@example.org.
