The Sampson Community College Foundation kicked off its annual fundraising with the Campus Drive Campaign this month.

Staff and faculty were treated to a day of Biker-themed activities, and they continued the strong tradition of 100 percent participation in the Campus Drive. Over $15,000 was raised to support student scholarships, faculty grants and campus programs.

The Center for Health and Wellness sponsored spin trials in the courtyard where staff could sample spinning classes led by Janice Armwood. About 10 local bikers staged a rally on campus and gave motorcycle rides to SCC employees.

The Foundation sponsored lunch and a temporary tattoo parlor where Sharon West used her expertise in inking her colleagues. “Le Tour de Sampson” was staged in the afternoon for cycling the nearby neighborhoods.

The SCC Foundation is proud to host the annual event, said Foundation Executive Director Lisa Turlington.
