Sampson County Spotlight registrations sought

The registration deadline for the first Sampson County Spotlight Talent Show has been extended until Dec. 10. The talent show is scheduled to be held on Saturday, Jan. 9, at the Sampson Community Theatre. This exciting project is being organized by Life Scout Blake Bellanger as his Eagle Scout service project for the Boy Scouts of America.

Bellanger is in the ninth grade at Clinton High School, and he has been active in both dance and scouting since the age of 7. He is thrilled to have the opportunity to combine those activities into one awesome project.

All proceeds from the show will benefit the renovation of the Sampson Community Theatre’s backstage dressing room. Bellanger will be responsible for overseeing the reconstruction of the dressing room in addition to organizing the benefit performance.

Corporate sponsors for the event are: Advanced Physical Therapy of Clinton; Black, Chesnutt and Johnson, CPA; Carolina Eye Care Professionals; Clinton Drug Company; Clinton Surgical; Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home; Deployed Tactical; Happy Ours After School and Summer Program; Melissa Taylor, CPA; The Performing Arts School; and Total Health Internal Medicine.

The project needs entertainment of all varieties: dancers, singers, comedians, magicians, and actors. It will feature both group and solo acts. Performers are encouraged to share their talents with the community. For registration information, contact Blake Bellanger at
