GODWIN AREA — A homeowner is offering a $5,000 reward leading to the arrest and conviction of the people who broke into his home and got away with a bevy of electronics and firearms, and he’s doubling that reward if the stolen items are able to be recovered.
On May 25, deputies responded to a breaking and entering at 190 Autry Mill Road, Godwin.
Upon arrival, deputies spoke with the homeowner, who reported that an unknown subject or subjects had forcibly entered the residence and stolen several electronic items, such as computers and a television, as well as several firearms. Investigators with the Sampson County Sheriff’s Criminal Investigations Division are “thoroughly working on this case and following up on all pertinent leads,” authorities said.
The homeowner has pledged a split reward to anyone having information pertaining to the investigation, with the stipulation that the reward will be provided if the tip leads to arrests and convictions.
A reward in the amount of $5,000 will be given to any individual who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the suspect or suspects involved in the breaking and entering, according to the homeowner. An additional $5,000 has been pledged should that information also lead to the recovery of all firearms that were stolen from this residence, authorities said, relaying the homeowner’s offer.
