A Clinton man has been arrested on 18 felony counts of rape for alleged actions against a male teenage victim, Sampson County Sheriff’s officials said Friday.
Miguel Ramos Castro, 62, of 114 Rowan Creek Lane, Clinton, was charged with 18 counts of what was termed “male rape” on his arrest report. The sheriff’s database classified each of the 18 felonies as second degree forcible sex offense, a Class C felony. Authorities listed Castro as a 5 foot, 3 inch, 140-pound laborer from Mexico.
Sheriff’s Lt. Marcus Smith said Castro’s arrest followed a complaint made by the teenager’s parents on Monday.
“The parents filed a complaint with Sampson County Sheriff’s investigators that their 16-year-old son had been sexually assaulted by the suspect,” Smith said. “An investigation into the complaint was launched and investigators obtained enough probable cause to charge the suspect with 18 counts of rape.”
Castro was reportedly arrested at his Rowan Creek Lane residence on Thursday and transported to the Sheriff’s Office, where he was placed in the Sampson County Detention Center under $900,000 secured bond.
