Authorities, family seeking missing woman

Maria Ventura-Cruz, 38, of 2960 Hayes Mill Road, Godwin, has been missing since Sunday. Sampson County Sheriff’s authorities stated they have been searching for her since then and on Wednesday evening released information about her.


Sampson County Sheriff’s authorities are currently searching for a Godwin woman, stating that they “are not ruling out criminal misconduct” in her disappearance.

Maria Ventura-Cruz, 38, of 2960 Hayes Mill Road, Godwin, has been missing since Sunday. A missing person’s report was filed with the Sheriff’s Office on Monday by a family member. The family member reported that Cruz was last seen around 7 p.m Sunday and has not been heard from since.

Investigators have been actively searching for Cruz since that time and are not ruling out criminal misconduct in the incident.
