Two men have been arrested in connection with a break-in and theft of a generator from a Roseboro storage building Sunday after they were found in possession of the item during a traffic stop, Sampson County Sheriff’s authorities said.

Nickolas Dwight Wilt, 23, of 662 Harmony Church Road, Roseboro, and Brandon Marcel Raynor, 33, of Loop Road, Clinton, were each charged with breaking and entering, larceny and possession of stolen goods.

Both men were placed under $10,000 secured bond.

The charges against them stemmed from a Sunday larceny from a storage building on Harmony Church Road, Roseboro. During the incident, the suspects reportedly stole a generator, valued at $1,500.

“The owner contacted 911 and reported the larceny and a suspect description to responding officers,” Sheriff’s Lt. Marcus Smith said. “Upon arrival to the area, officers located subjects fitting the suspect description operating a dark-colored pickup truck in the area.”

The report was made just after midnight Sunday. A traffic stop was conducted later that same day and the stolen generator was located in the bed of the truck, sheriff’s authorities said. As a result, the two occupants of the vehicle were charged.
