Garden club plants trees at local school

Midway Elementary School was the site for the Arbor Day observance by the Just-A-Mere Garden Club. On Friday, March 17, the kindergarten classes of Christina Detwiler, Jennifer Jones and April Dudley participated in the planting of a dogwood tree in the school’s courtyard. Club member Beverly Best instructed the students on the fundamentals in planting the tree and its care. Students then helped her fill in the hole with soil after the tree was placed in the ground. Assisting in planting the tree were Dwight Eastman and Al Carr, of the school staff.
