The marquee at the new Carlie C’s IGA at Lakewood Plaza in Roseboro was already changed Wednesday and the facade was getting the same treatment, part of the conversion of four former Piggly Wiggly stores. Along with the Carlie C’s IGA in Roseboro, three new Carlie C’s took their place at the previous Piggly Wiggly locations in Clinton.

Workers prepare to put up the new Carlie C’s letters at the store at Lakewood Plaza in Roseboro. It was one of the four locations that switched from the Lindsay family-owned Paramount Foods (Piggly Wiggly) to Promise Foods Inc. (Carlie C’s) in a sale announced last month. The conversion to Carlie C’s was underway starting on the interior of the stores Sunday evening. The facades began their transformation on Monday and that work has been ongoing this week.
