The Sampson Community Theater was a popular place this past weekend as Angela Martin held auditions for “Disney’s High School Musical” and a goodly number of teenagers showed up to demonstrate their talent. There was so many high school students that passed muster that Ms. Martin was able to double cast this popular song and dance production.
There are 4 adults and 44 teenagers in 2 casts and their first rehearsal is this Friday July 17 at 6 p.m. The adults in the show are Suzi Faircloth and Kathy Day casted as Mrs. Darcy, a teacher at the high school and Tracy Jackson and Kenney Moore, casted as the coach.
We wish to thank David Hobson, a local attorney, for volunteering to sponsor this production. David has two girls, Kate and Emma, who have been in our shows over the past few years and David wanted to show his pride for the theater in a show where his daughters were not cast members. This is the purest form of civic pride and we ask that you thank David for his generosity.
The Board met this past Monday and a broad spectum of shows for our 2016 season were discussed but nothing was confirmed. The board is to research the shows suggested and review the royalties and whether the rights are available with confirmation to be based on the findings. If you have a favorite show you would like to see call us at 592-8653 and leave us a message. It’s possible your suggestion will be seen on the big stage of the Sampson Community Theater next season.
Our website is available at: www.sampsoncommunitytheatre.org and we are on Facebook but if you visit us there, we ask that you “like” us while there. You can see both casts there.

Thoughts until next week:
Example is not the main thing in influencing others. It is the only thing.
“We look forward to the time when the power of love will replace the love of power. Then will our world know the blessing of peace” — William Gladstone
You can tell more about a person by what he says about others than you can by what others say about him.
