Katelynn Phillips, 6, along with her grandmother Pamela Giddens, paid a surprise visit to the Newton Grove Town Hall on Tuesday, June 20.

She presented fresh-baked chocolate chip and oatmeal raisin cookies to Town Clerk Amanda Turner and Police Chief Frankie Harrell to show appreciation for their service and care for the residents of Newton Grove.

Katelynn plans to do a kind service each week during her summer vacation. Newton Grove officials praised her for her kindness.

“Kudos to Katelynn for being so conscientious of each other and especially for being such as good mentor for others to follow,” the town said in a prepared statement.
