Yearlong probe by sheriff’s drug agents nets arrests

Eleven residents in Sampson County were arrested Tuesday on felony drug charges, the culmination of a yearlong undercover operation by the Sampson County Sheriff’s Special Investigations Division.

According to reports released Wednesday, the following individuals have been charged as a result of the investigation:

• Tiffany Evetta Hicks, 24, of 704 Williams St., Clinton, was charged with two counts of conspiring to sell cocaine, two counts of conspiring to deliver cocaine, selling cocaine, delivering cocaine and two counts of maintaining a vehicle for the sale and storage of a controlled substance. Hicks’ bond was set at $125,000.

• Antwoine Lee Vinston, 31, of 80 Harpers Glen Lane, Apt. 301, Clinton, was charged with three counts of possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine, three counts of selling cocaine, three counts of delivering cocaine and two counts of maintaining a dwelling for a controlled substance. Seized was 1.6 grams of “crack” cocaine. Vinston’s bond was set at $200,000.

• Brandon Lamar Bell, 28, of 2812 E. Darden Road, Faison, was charged with three counts of selling marijuana, three counts of delivering marijuana, three counts of possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, two counts of selling cocaine, two counts of delivering cocaine and two counts of possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine. Bell’s bond was set at $150,000. According to reports, 12.9 grams of marijuana and 0.9 gram of “crack” cocaine were seized.

• Tony Franklin Kiger, 55, of 2607 Keener Road, Clinton, was charged with maintaining a vehicle for a controlled substance, possession of meth precursor, conspire to sell marijuana, deliver marijuana, possession of marijuana, possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana and simple possession of Schedule II controlled substance. During his arrest, a mobile meth lab was located inside Kiger’s vehicle. The lab contained meth and meth precursors. Kiger’s bond was set at $130,000.

• Raul Palacios Acosta, 33, of 8196 Turkey Hwy., Clinton, was charged with two counts of selling cocaine, two counts of delivering cocaine and two counts of possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine. Seized was 5.1 grams of cocaine. Acosta’s bond was set at $80,000.

• Demetrius Montrell Wilson, 26, of 312 Tarheel Drive, Clinton, was charged selling cocaine, delivering cocaine and possession with intent to selling and delivering cocaine, and possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine. Seized was 0.3 gram of cocaine. Wilson’s bond was set at $20,000.

• Lindsay Gerard Howard, 31, of 66 Waterhouse Circle, Clinton, was charged with three counts of trafficking opium or heroin, selling cocaine, delivering cocaine, possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine and conspiring to sell and deliver a Schedule IV controlled substance. Seized in the arrest was 13 Percocets and 1.3 gram of cocaine. Howard’s bond was set at $20,000.

• Antonio Maurice Howard, 32, of 66 Waterhouse Circle, Clinton, was charged with selling a Schedule IV controlled substance, delivering a Schedule IV controlled substance, possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver a Schedule IV controlled substance. Seized in the arrest was 28 dosage units of Alprazolam.. Howard’s bond was set at $15,000.

• James Tyler Marshburn, 21, of 3539 Turkey Hwy., Clinton, was charged with selling marijuana, delivering marijuana and possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana. Seized was 2.1 grams of marijuana, reports state. Marshburn’s bond was set at $10,000.

• Yolanda Jones, 47, of 85 Henry Lee Lane, Clinton, was charged with trafficking opiates by sale, trafficking opiates by delivery and trafficking opiates by possession. Seized was 14 dosage units of hydrocodone. Jones’ bond was set at $10,000.

• Kelvin Gooden, 22, of 590 Southwood Drive, Clinton, was charged with selling marijuana, delivering marijuana and possession with intent to sell and deliver of marijuana. Gooden’s bond was set at $10,000. Seized was 5.5 grams of marijuana.

Sheriff’s officials declined to go into detail about the investigation, noting there was no further comment.
