More names have been added to an already long list of arrests related to a yearlong undercover drug operation by the Sampson County Sheriff’s Department.

An additional five names were released Wednesday, bringing the total number of arrests associated with the drug sting to 33. The arrests have been for an array of drugs, from prescription medications to most recently, methamphetamine.

These additional arrests are the culmination of an undercover operation by the Sampson County Sheriff’s Special Investigation Division (SID).

According to Lt. Marcus Smith with the Sheriff’s Office, a traffic stop netted four of the new arrests.

Jason Byrd, 32, of 157 Farm Tree Lane, has been charged with felony possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bond was set at $35,870.

At the time of his arrest, officers seized .02 grams of meth.

Cory Byrd, 27, of 159 Harpers Glen Lane, Apt. 204, was charged with felony possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia and felony probation violation. Bond was set at $85,000. He was charged and sentenced earlier this year for felony possession of a schedule II controlled substance.

At the time of his arrest, officers seized .02 grams of meth.

Holly Phillips, 33, of 207 W. Roseboro St., Apt. B, Roseboro, was charged with felony possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bond was set at $35,000.

At the time of her arrest, officers seized .02 grams of meth.

Ginger Baggett, 38, of 3559 Straw Pond School Road, Roseboro, was charged with felony possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bond was set at $35,500.

At the time of her arrest, officers seized .02 grams of meth.

Jeremy Owens, 32, of 225 Dogwood Circle, was charged with the two felony counts of sell of cocaine, two felony counts of delivery of cocaine and two felony counts possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine. Bond was set at $50,000.

Owens received three misdemeanor chargers of selling marijuana, delivery of marijuana and one count of posession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana.

At the time of his arrest, officers seized one gram of crack cocaine and two grams of marijuana.

Owens also has convictions dating back to 2002 for both Cumberland and Sampson counties, including breaking and entering and assault.

Sheriff’s officials have declined to go into detail about the investigation at this point. The 25 people arrested on felony charges have received bonds ranging from $10,000 to $200,000.
