(The public reports listed below are provided by the Sampson County Sheriff’s Office, the Clinton Police Department and the N.C. Highway Patrol via the Sheriff’s Office daily jail report.)

Arrests/citations

• July 31 — Wesley Adam Merritt, 23, of 4219 Needmore Road, Turkey, was charged with breaking and entering and failure to register vehicle. Bond set at $3,000; court date is Aug. 11.

• July 31 — Darnell Jerry Crawford, 60, of 511 Southeast Blvd., Clinton, was charged with assault with a deadly weapon. Bond set at $2,000; court date is Aug. 9.

• Aug. 1 — Joshua Lee Odum, 29, of 3181 Hayne Stretch Road, Roseboro, was charged with possession of a stolen firearm and purchasing a firearm- violation of domestic violence protective order. No bond set; court date is Aug. 11.

• Aug. 1 — Bryan James Wood, 34, of 173 Lewis Iley Tew Road, Dunn, was charged on out-of-county warrants with larceny by employee, three counts of obtaining property by false pretense and possession of stolen property. Bond set at $10,000; court date is Aug. 4.

• Aug. 1 — Cory James Smith, 20, of 10172 Old Mintz Hwy., Garland, was charged on out-of-county warrants with possession of fraudulent ID, consuming alcohol by 19/20 and resist, delay and obstruct. Bond set at $500; court date is Aug. 28.

Incidents/investigations

• Aug. 1 — Amy Fogle and Alma Mintz were victims in a larceny on Raleigh Road, in which numerous tools, drill bits, welding rods and other materials. Items valued at about $1,700.

• Aug. 1 — The City of Clinton was the victim in damage to computer equipment, which reportedly occurred on Old Warsaw Road. Damage estimated at $1,100.

• Aug. 1 — Priscilla Cowan of Clinton reported the theft of a flat screen TV, valued at $1,000.

• Aug. 1 — Claudia Mcleod of Autryville reported the larceny of items from her home, including a TV, coffee table, summer dresses and perfume. Items valued at $570. Damage to a sliding glass door was estimated at $400.
