Razzie Smith celebrates 109th birthday


Clinton resident Razzie Smith is celebrating his 109th birthday today. Smith, who was featured in an article in The Sampson Independent last year, was born in Duplin County and worked as a farmer for most of his life. Besides a few minor health issues and hearing problems, Smith is otherwise healthy and still lives at home with his daughter. Smith and his wife raised 11 children and one grandchild. He says he has so many grandchildren, he can’t remember how many.
