Sampson County Sheriff’s authorities are searching for the male suspect who reportedly grabbed a handful of cash from the register of a Roseboro convenience store before fleeing the area.

The incident was reported at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Scotchman of Roseboro, located at 201 E. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. (N.C. 24) in Roseboro. Less than $18 was taken, according to reports.

“An unknown white male made a purchase and during the currency exchange, the suspect reached into the register, grabbed some cash and ran from the store,” Sheriff’s Lt. Marcus Smith stated.

He said there was no weapon brandished in the money snatch.

The suspect was described as a white male with brown hair, approximately 6 feet tall, weighing an estimated 240 pounds and wearing a red tank top and red shorts at the time of the robbery, according to reports.
