As a part of the 2017 4-H Summer Adventure Series, seven youth from Sampson County attended State 4-H Camp at the Eastern 4-H Center in Columbia, N.C.
State 4-H Camp is a camp open to youth between the ages of 9 to 18 years old. Youth experience an unforgettable week at one of the three camp centers in the state. This year Sampson County attended the week camp at the Eastern 4-H Center, which is located in the rural area of northeastern North Carolina, located right on the Pamlico Sound.
Participants had the opportunity throughout the week to learn about local wildlife, go canoeing and kayaking, take part in leadership activities and much more. State 4-H Camp is an awesome opportunity for youth to learn leadership, teamwork, communication, responsibility, and problem solving skills.
Youth attending were Haley Best, Cadence Best, Larkin Best, Ebin Best, Mirabella Edwards, Lola Warren and Jewell Carr.
