Two Sampson County residents have been charged in a vehicle break-in, while in a separate case, a Roseboro man has been taken into custody for allegedly stealing a four-wheeler last month.
Kendric Emanuel Johnson, 17, of 228 Harry Rackley Lane, Clinton, was charged with breaking and entering of a motor vehicle, possession of a stolen property and larceny after breaking and entering. Bond set at $25,000 secured.
Thomas Xavier Boone, 22, of 2426 New Hope Church Road, Turkey, was charged with breaking and entering of a motor vehicle, larceny after breaking and entering, financial card theft, financial card fraud and possession of stolen goods/property. Bond set at $8,000 secured.
Additionally, Boone was served a felony warrant of obtaining property by false pretense, stemming from an investigation in New Hanover County. He received $4,500 secured bond for that offense.
Johnson and Boone were served with the charges Saturday.
Those charges stem from an incident on July 29 when deputies responded to a break-in of a motor vehicle on Williamson Road, Clinton. The victim reported that unknown suspects entered their vehicle, stealing two firearms and other items. Through the investigation, Johnson and Boone were taken into custody.
In a separate case, a Roseboro man was charged with larceny and resisting charges two days after a four-wheeler was reported stolen last week.
James Bryant Laird Jr., 28, of 720 Pine Forest School Road, Roseboro, was charged with felony larceny and resisting public officer. Bond set at $40,000 secured.
The victim reported a four-wheeler stolen on Monday, Sept. 4, from Pine Forest School Road, Roseboro, a neighboring residence to Laird’s listed address. Investigators located the four-wheeler the following day and obtained enough evidence to obtain warrants on the suspect — Laird — for larceny. On Wednesday, Sept. 6, Laird was located in the area of Parker Memorial Road and taken into custody.
