The playwright of the next production at the Sampson Community Theater is one of the well-known names in Broadway history.

Neil Simon was born in the Bronx and began his career as a member of the writers (which included Woody Allen, Mel Brooks and Carl Reiner) for the iconic TV production of “Your Show of Shows” in the 50’s.

In 1961 his first hit show “Come Blow Your Horn” was produced and which was followed by “Barefoot In The Park”. In 1966 “The Odd Couple” made a smash hit on Broadway and was made into a popular and successful movie as well as a TV serial comedy.

In the 1980’s Mr. Simon wrote “The Female Odd Couple” and now in 2017, Tom Wilbur will direct a great cast in this mature comedy that has more laughs than Carter has Little Liver Pills on the big stage of the Sampson Community Theater We thank Warrick, Bradshaw & Lockamy, P.A., Attorneys at Law for their sponsorship. Tickets will be available at Matthew’s Gifts and at Inkspot.

Thoughts until next week:

The best car safety device is a rear-view mirror with a cop in it.

History is indeed little more than the register of the crimes, follies, and misfortunes of mankind.

The nicest place to be is in someone’s thoughts, the safest place to be is in someone’s prayers, and the very best place to be is … in the hands of God.
