The Sampson Community Theater is busy these days with rehearsals for “The Odd Couple” female version which will open a six-show run at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 20.
From all reports comes the fact that this cast is having more fun at rehearsals than usual because it has more females than males and they are all veterans on our stage and realize that good comedy depends on good timing as much as it does on good lines. The good lines are provided by Neil Simon and the good timing comes only with extensive practice. Tom Wilbur is directing this mature comedy as he has done for other Neil Simon plays including “Come Blow Your Horn”, “Barefoot In the Park”, “Prisoner of Second Avenue”, “I Oughta Be In Pictures” and “The Odd Couple” which spotlighted Michael Lindsey and Gary Melvin as Felix Unger and Oliver Madison. The “Female Odd Couple” will feature Felesia Buczynski as Florence Inger and Erica Miller as Olive Madison.
We thank Warrick, Bradshaw & Lockamy, P.A., Attorneys at Law for their sponsorship. Tickets will be available at Matthew’s Gifts at Inkspot and at the box office when open.
Kathy Day is a member of the cast of “Footloose” now playing at the Temple Theater in Sanford. Kathy does a super job whether in Clinton or elsewhere.

Thoughts until next week
There are worse crimes than burning books.
One of them is not reading them.
Think before you speak, read before you think.
Children are made readers on the laps of their parents.
