Area churches hosting homecoming services

On Wednesday, Oct. 11, at 7 p.m., Together As One Service is held at Brown’s Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, Clinton. Special guest is New Creation of Hillsboro.

On Wednesday, Oct. 11-13 at 7:30 p.m. (nightly), Women’s Conference is being held at Running Branch Disciples of Christ Church, Clinton. There will be guest speakers each night and music rendered by different choirs.

On Friday, Oct. 13, at 8 p.m., Pastor Christopher Brown Jr., choir and congregation of Holy Tabernacle U.H.C. Roseboro, will render service at the House of Praise, Newton Grove.

On Saturday, Oct. 14, at 6 p.m., Saint Stephen A.M.E Zion Church, Garland, will celebrate Dr. Hugh Miller’s 20th year in the ministry with a celebration and appreciation service. The guest messenger will be the Rev. Harry D. Hines of Saint Thomas A.M.E. Zion Church, Roseboro.

On Sunday, Oct. 15, at 10 a.m., Big Piney Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Clinton, will celebrate their homecoming service with the guest messenger Pastor Valentino Bryant, choir and congregation of Bearskin Missionary Baptist Church, Clinton. Dinner will be served after the morning service.

On Sunday, Oct. 15, at 11 a.m., homecoming service will be celebrated at Little Piney Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Clinton. The guest messenger will be the Rev. Bernard Spates of Big Piney Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Clinton. Music is render by Little Piney Grove adult choir. Dinner will be served following the morning service.

On Sunday, Oct. 15, at 11 a.m., Union Star Freewill Baptist Church, Clinton, will celebrate their pastor, Bishop James Leftdwrige’s 48th pastoral anniversary. The guest messenger will be Elder James Mason and choir of Solid Rock Full Gospel Baptist Church, Capital Heights, Md. Dinner will be served following morning service.

On Sunday, Oct. 15, at 11 a.m., Beaver Dam Missionary Baptist Church on Odom Road, Clinton, will celebrate their 134th homecoming and church anniversary. The Rev. Jeremy Jones will bring forth the morning message and music rendered by the community male chorus. Dinner will be served. At 4 p.m., the guest messenger will be the Rev. Dr. J. Vincent Terry, choir and congregation of Mt. Peace Missionary Baptist Church, Raleigh.

On Sunday, Oct. 15, at 11 a.m., Turkey Baptist Church will celebrate Harvest Day. Pastor Ron Bryan will bring forth the message and music render by the River of Life Gospel Group. The church is located at 144 East Faison St., Turkey.

On Sunday, Oct. 15, at 11 a.m., Olivet Institutional Baptist Church, Clinton, will celebrate their homecoming with special guest Minister Tonnie Campbell of Mason Temple Conway, S.C. The musical guest will be “Son of Faith” of Savannah, Ga.

On Sunday, Oct. 15, at 11 a.m., Point Level Disciples of Christ Church, Clinton, will be celebrating their pastor, the Rev. Dr. Dannie Roberson’s, anniversary. The guest messenger will be the Rev. Gail Jones, choir and congregation of Emmanuel Life Worship Center, Newman, Ga.

On Sunday, Oct. 15, at 11 a.m., Pastor Jeffery White, ushers, choir and congregation of Brown’s Chapel Missionary Baptist Church will render service at St. Paul Baptist Church in District Heights, Md.

On Sunday, Oct. 15, at 11 a.m., regular morning service will be held at St. Peter U.H. Church, Keener. The guest speaker will be Elder Jefferson McClain and music rendered by the combine choir.

On Sunday, Oct. 15, at 11 a.m., White Oak Disciples of Christ Church will celebrate their pastor Bishop Charles J. Williams’ 49th pastoral anniversary.

On Sunday, Oct. 15, at 11 a.m., New Light will be observing Family and Friends Day. The Pastor is Rev. Andrea Bell. Dinner will be served after service.

On Sunday, Oct. 15, at 11:30 a.m., Wilson Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, Turkey, will celebrate their 147th homecoming service. The pastor, the Rev. Wendell Newton, will bring forth the homecoming message, and music rendered by the adult choir. Dinner will be served following the morning service. At 3 p.m., the guest messenger will be the Rev. Williams Smith, choir and congregation of Newkirk Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, Willard.

On Sunday, Oct. 15, at 3 p.m., homecoming celebration will be held at Ingold First Baptist Church, Clinton. The guest for the afternoon will be Dr. Hugh Miller, choir and congregation of St. Stephens A.M.E. Zion Church, Garland. Dinner will be served following the service.

On Sunday, Oct. 15, at 3 p.m., Mrs. Rita Hobbs of Clinton will sponsor a Pew Rally at Running Branch Disciples of Christ Church, Clinton.

On Sunday, Oct. 15, at 3 p.m., homecoming service will be held at Holy Tabernacle U.H. Church, Roseboro. The guest messenger will be Elder Jospel Moore of Evergreen U.H.C. Salemburg. Dinner will be served following morning service.

On Sunday, Oct. 15, at 4 p.m., The Seven Churches in Asia Service will be held at The New Church of Christ, Faison. There will be seven different speakers. Refreshments will be served in the fellowship hall.

On Wednesday, Oct. 18, at 7:30 p.m., Pastor Christopher Brown Jr., choir and congregation of Holy Tabernacle U.H.C. Roseboro, will render service at True Light Church, Kinston.

On Saturday, Oct. 21, from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m., Mount Zion U.H.C., 250 Lanefield Road, Warsaw, will present, Road to Finanical Freeedom Conference. The guest speaker will be Caroline S. Anderson (branch manger) of Carter Bank & Trust, Fayetteville.

On Saturday, Oct. 21, at 2 p.m., Layman Leisure will sponsor a “Big Fish Fry” and Prayer Tent” for the youth, held at Lisbon Street Missionary Baptist Church, Clinton.

On Sunday, Oct. 22, at 11 a.m., Homecoming /Family and Friend’s Day will be observed at Lisbon Street Missionary Baptist Church. The guest messenger will be Elder Bobby Lamb and congregation of St. Mary United Holy Church, Kenansville. Lisbon Street male chorus will render the music. Dinner will be served following the service.

On Sunday, Oct. 22, at 3:30 p.m., Pastor Christopher Brown Jr., choir and congregation will render service at Mt. Moriah U.H.C., Wilmington.
