Two arrests were made Tuesday in separate drug investigations by Clinton Police authorities.

Timothy Jaquan Joyner, 20, was charged with two counts of felony probation violation, possession of marijuana greater than half an ounce and resisting police officer.

Police responded to a residence on Eastover Avenue as part of a robbery investigation. While looking for suspect Terrance Simmons, who was subsequently arrested, officers detected an odor of marijuana coming from a white Nissan Altima. Officers approached the vehicle and found Joyner lying down in the backseat of the vehicle.

Police subsequently seized 25.5 grams of marijuana.

Knowing Joyner had warrants for his arrest, police arrested him. He was placed in the Sampson County Detention Center under $108,000 secured bond, including $100,000 for probation violation offenses.

In the other arrest, Anthony Michael Jones Jr., 24, of 761 West Road, Turkey, was charged with possession of a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of park. Jones was taken into custody at the Bellamy Center.

There was 35.2 grams of marijuana seized during the arrest.

Jones was placed under $40,000 secured bond, according to reports.
