Ten vying for Miss Clinton High title


Ten young ladies are vying for the title of Miss Clinton High School. The pageant will be held Thursday, Nov. 2, at 7 p.m. in the Prestage Auditorium.


The Miss Clinton High School pageant will be held Thursday, Nov. 2, at 7 p.m. in Prestage Auditorium at Clinton High School.

This year’s theme is “Southern Charm.” Ten contestants will be competing in private interview, casual wear, talent and evening gown. The Miss CHS contestants are Chariti Smith, Catherine Smith, Andries Faison, Madison Carter, Jade Harris, Kendall Spell, Mattie Byrd, Alexis Weeks, Tierra Moore and Sanaa Dyches. Special entertainment will be provided by Kaitlyn Royal, the reigning Miss Clinton High School, Karen Stallings, Miss Spivey’s Corner, and a variety of CHS students.

Chariti Smith is a junior, and the daughter of Deangila Pierce. She will be performing a vocal selection to “Listen” by Beyonce.

Catherine Smith is a senior, and is the daughter of Curtis and Ingrid Smith. She will be performing a vocal selection to “Good Morning, Baltimore”.

Andries Faison is a senior, and is the daughter of Jeanne Bullock. She will be performing a vocal selection to “Running” by Beyonce.

Madison Carter is a sophomore, and is the daughter of Crystal Wynn and Shannon Wynn. She will be performing a vocal selection to “Hallelujah.”

Jade Harris is a sophomore, and is the daughter of Anita Harris. She will be performing a poetic monologue with video presentation.

Kendall Spell is a sophomore, and is the daughter of Eric and Sharon Spell. She will be performing a clogging routine to “BOSS” by Fifth Harmony.

Mattie Byrd is a junior, and is the daughter of Patrick and Amanda Byrd. She will be performing an upbeat pointe routine to “Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy” by Pentatonix.

Alexis Weeks is a sophomore, and is the daughter of Hillary Weeks. She will be performing a contemporary dance to “Dancing in the Sky” by Dani and Lizzy.

Tierra Moore is a senior, and is the daughter of Donnie Moore and Jennifer Robinson. She will be performing a vocal selection to “When We Were Young” by Adele. She will be accompanied by her father on piano.

Sanaa Dyches is a freshman, and the daughter of Tiara Johnson and Tairik Dyches. She will be performing a lyrical dance to “One Moment in Time” by Whitney Houston.
