The excellent cast of “The Odd Couple, Female Version” finished their six show run this past Sunday and left a goodly number of our citizens with smiles on their face as the curtains closed on the Neil Simon mature comedy at the Sampson Community Theater.
The six females (Felicia Buczynski, Erica Miller, Gretta Steffens, Janet Rawls, Lila Maxwell and Lisa Cain) and the two males ( Kirk Hudson and Roger Gonzales) kept the audience chuckling and applauding. We commend the cast on a job well done and hope to see them in future productions and we thank Warrick, Bradshaw and Lockamy, P.A., Attorney at Law for their sponsorship of this entertaining comedy.
Angela Martin is the director of the next performance at SCT and is titled “Elf, Jr., The Musical” which has a large cast and includes many children and some adults. Coleman Simpson having just finished “Seussical” recently, is back on the big stage in this show along with a large number of kids. Rehearsals begin this week and will continue until the show opens in December.
Dr. L.J. Carr will hold auditions for “Beauty and The Beast” on Saturday, Nov. 25 at 10 a.m., Sunday, Nov. 26 at 5 p.m. and Tuesday, Dec. 5 at 6 p.m. There are roles for ages 5 to adult for this show which will be performed Thursday, Jan. 25 through Sunday, Feb. 4 for a total of eight shows. The rights have been secured.
