Environmental art

Students at Butler Avenue Elementary School participated in a ‘Save the Frog’ Art Contest recently to help promote environmental awareness. Students created their own posters and submitted them through the savethefrogs.com website that was linked in association with the North Carolina Office of Environmental Education and Public Affairs. This environmental project was supported by the Smithfield offices of Clinton, who provided the entire school with Art Supplies and awards. School contest winners are, from left to right, second grade, MaKaylee Knight, first place, and Jayden Hill, second place; third grade winners Lacey Pearson, third place, Yoseph Zalavarria, second place, and Sofia Lin, first place.
