The next production at the Sampson Community Theater has all the ingredients of Christmas such as laughing, singing, comradeship, colorful garments, friendship, elves, etc., etc. and “Elf, Jr.” has them all.

The cast of 60 children and adults is currently in intense rehearsals for this show since it opens on Dec. 1 and that is a mere three weeks away. There is a world of work to be done in a relatively short time, but you can rest assured that Angela Martin, the director, will have her cast as ready as possible to entertain you and get the whole family in a festive mood for a merry Christmas.

Tickets to this Christmas show will be available at Inkspot and at Matthew’s Gifts. Sponsor for “Elf, Jr.” is Performance Dodge and Ford and we thank them for keeping the live arts active in our county.

Dr. L.J. Carr will hold auditions for “Beauty and The Beast” on Saturday, Nov. 25 at 10 a.m.; Sunday, Nov. 26 at 5 p.m. and Tuesday, Dec. 5 at 6 p.m. There are roles for ages 5 to adult for this show which will be performed in 2018 on Jan. 25, 26, 27, 28 and Feb. 1, 2, 3, 4.

The rights have been secured.

Thoughts until next week

The luck of having talent is not enough; One must also have a talent for luck.

We can always choose how we react to things in our lives. We can be better, or we can be bitter. Try to be better.

The way we see the problem is the problem.
